Programmable dictation for macOS

Your voice is theinput and the editor.

Speak commands that edit what you already said. Deterministic, local, and every word you spoke kept verbatim.

Voice-first by design

Capture your natural train of thought, then shape it without reaching for the keyboard.

Structured by command

Speak exact edits, scopes, variables, templates, and macros. The same command does the same thing.

Private by default

Recognition and deterministic edits stay local. Network features are explicit and scoped.

The core idea

Dictation you can program.

Most dictation software guesses what polished should mean. Verbaform keeps every word, then changes only what you tell it to change.

Speak.

so um the launch email should say that nothing you dictate is ever lost

Every word lands verbatim. Nothing is rewritten behind your back.

Command.

verba trim fillers then capitalize sentences

Pause, then say the change. Chain steps with then.

Done.

The launch email should say that nothing you dictate is ever lost. 2 edits

The exact edit, in milliseconds, on your Mac. One undo away.

Deterministic by design

Say the change.
See the exact result.

Verba is a small spoken language of functions, scopes, and chains. It runs locally in milliseconds and never edits beyond the span you name.

“Verba, take it from here.

One word wakes it. Everything after it is the language.

System-wide

One key.
Every text field.

Right Command becomes a system-wide voice layer. Tap to compose in the Pill, double tap for hands-free, or hold for instant push-to-talk.

Compose, command, then send when the words are right. Secure fields are always refused.

A small language for your voice.

Verba is thirty functions, nine ways to point, and one way to chain them. Learn three commands in the first session; define your own after that.

Deterministic transforms run locally in milliseconds. AI operations like polish and summarize are opt-in, scoped to the span you name, shown as a diff, and revertible by voice.

Programmable memory

Give your voice
a memory.

Name live regions. Save reusable values. Turn document structures into guided templates. Define a multi-step macro once, then call it like a built-in command.

  • Commands understand variable names as scopes.
  • Derived fields update as a template changes.
  • Chains and macros stay one undo step.
intro

Launch with the people who feel the pain most.

Start with design partners, keep the feedback loop tight, and publish the changes they can feel.

intro · regionlaunch_date · valuegreeting · library

Say verba name this intro and the region stays live: move it, polish it, fill it, by name.

Optional AI

AI writes the program.
Not your document.

Say what you want in plain language. The intent compiler turns it into a short Verba program, shows the exact diff, and waits for approval.

Built for the speed of thought

Local speed you can feel.

A warm recognition service, on-device transcription, and native insertion keep Verbaform ready before the first word lands.

On-device recognition

NVIDIA Parakeet TDT runs locally. Your everyday dictation does not need the cloud.

Guardrails at the cursor

Secure fields are refused, target focus stays put, and clipboard contents are restored.

The original survives

Raw speech stays beneath the formed document, with provenance and lossless undo.

Precise answers.
No fine print.

Verbaform is being built for people who care how their tools behave, not just what they promise.

Does Verbaform rewrite everything I say?

No. Your transcript stays verbatim until you ask for a specific edit. Deterministic commands are local, scoped, and reversible.

Where can I dictate?

Anywhere you can type on your Mac. The Pill and Quick Insert work at the system cursor while the target app keeps focus.

What does the AI see?

The intent compiler sees counts and variable names, not your document. Content only crosses the network for a scoped AI edit you explicitly approve.

What happens if a command is misheard?

Unrecognized commands land as normal transcript text. Applied commands remain one spoken undo away, and high-impact actions ask for confirmation.

Which Macs are supported?

The beta targets Apple Silicon Macs. Verbaform is designed around a warm local recognition engine and native system-wide insertion.
